Introduction to Commodes

When choosing a commode there are two issues to bear in mind. The first is appearance: how much do you want it to look as like a normal chair? To a large extent this will depend on where it is to be kept. The second is ease of use for both user and carer. Important here are the height; strength of the arms for lifting oneself off; the changing of the bowl; cleaning; and whether it should be on wheels to be moved around.
