Introduction to Walking Sticks

WE HAVE A LOVELY NEW RANGE OF TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY WALKING STICKS IN STOCK FOR SPRING AND SUMMER 2021.

More details to follow here soon...

We believe that walking sticks are as much about appearance and personality as they are about practicality and support. With our extensive range we hope that there is a stick to suit everyone's needs and style.

Apart from the look, the most important things to get right about walking sticks are the stick length and the handle shape. Aluminium and carbon fibre sticks are adjustable in length to meet most needs, whilst classic wooden sticks are quite long but can always be cut down. Ideally the handle of the stick should be at wrist height when your arm is straight down.Handles are various: there is a standard straight handle; a curved "derby" handle; the ergonomic handle for which you have to chose either a right or left handed version; and on wooden sticks there is the curved "crook" handle.

Most of our sticks are from Classic Canes, a small family business based in Somerset. They make the wooden sticks from their own woodland of coppiced trees. Hazel, ash and chestnut make beautiful natural sticks that look fabulous and feel great.

PLEASE VISIT OUR STORE IN HORNINGSEA AND WE WILL HELP YOU FIND A STICK THAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU.
